Michael J. Allen, CPO, FAAOP of Midland, Texas has been named president of the board of directors for the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics Inc. (ABC). He takes over for Stephen B. Fletcher, CPO, of Gainesville, Fla., as part of ABC’s regular leadership rotation. ABC presidents serve a one-year term as head of the organization and Allen’s ascent follows 10 years of service to the board and nearly 30 years of O&P experience.
Additionally, Todd Anderson, CP, FAAOP, of Minneapolis, joined the board for 2008. He is a prosthetist for Otto Bock HealthCare and has served as an examiner for ABC’s prosthetic exams for many years. Fletcher will continue to serve on the board as immediate past president. Long-time board members, Frank Friddle, CO, FAAOP and Jeff Yakovich, CO, stepped down as their terms have expired. Friddle and Yakovich served as presidents of ABC in 2004 and 2006, respectively.
