Athletes with Disabilities Network Receives $25,000 Grant

The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation awarded a $25,000 grant to the Athletes with Disabilities Network (ADN). The grant will be matched by the Easter Seals – Michigan, an affiliate of ADN.

Athletes with Disabilities Network is a nonprofit organization that promotes a better quality of life by creating opportunities for people with physical disabilities. The MDRT Foundation grant and Easter Seals – Michigan match will support ADN’s Mentoring and Outreach Program.

“Sports help a person’s mindframe and helps them get back to a normal life,” Elizabeth Taylor, executive director of ADN told O&P Business News. “Athletic involvement can make a major difference in a person’s confidence and quality of life.”

A major focus of ADN is to provide clinics and encourage disabled individuals who want to become involved or get back into sports.

“We are going around the country conducting clinics and outreach programs,” Taylor said. “We are also reaching out to able -bodied individuals. We are providing education so they are aware of the abilities of people with disabilities.”
