HealthSouth Realigns Into Six Regions

HealthSouth recently realigned its hospitals into six regions.

“Our development plans are accelerating as expected and to maintain our clinical and operational focus while positioning the company for future expansion, we are realigning our hospitals and adding a new region to our organizational infrastructure,” Jay Grinney, HealthSouth president and chief executive officer, stated in a company press release.

The six regions were realigned as follows:

  • Ed Mowen was promoted to regional president for the newly configured Mid-Atlantic region and has operational responsibility for 14 hospitals located in South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Frank Brown was named the president of the Southwest region and has responsibility for 19 hospitals located in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas. Jerry Gray was announced as the president of the West region and will have responsibility for 14 hospitals located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Peter Mantegazza was named the president of the Northeast region and will have responsibility for 17 hospitals in Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
  • Terry Maxhimer was named president of the Central region and will have responsibility for 16 hospitals, 15 of which are located in Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Tennessee. He also will have responsibility for the company’s hospital in Bristol, Va. because of this hospital’s close proximity to the company’s hospital in Kingsport, Tenn. Linda Wilder was named president of the Southeast region and will have responsibility for 17 hospitals located in Alabama, Florida and Puerto Rico.
