CAF presents running prosthesis to Boston Marathon bombing survivor

The Challenged Athletes Foundation hosted Heather Abbott and three other Boston Marathon bombing survivors at its CAF Össur Leg Amputee Running and Mobility Clinic held at Harvard University on Oct. 6.

CAF, in partnership with Össur and Knights of Columbus, presented Abbott with a running prosthesis at a private reception held at NikeTown Boston Oct. 5. She is the first survivor from the Boston Marathon bombings to receive an adaptive running prosthesis. Abbott and fellow bombing survivors Celeste and Sydney Corcoran and Roseann Sdoia, as well as 38 other amputees from around Boston and across the Northeast, received coaching from running and sports training experts Bob Gailey, PhD, PT, and Peter Harsch, CP.

CAF will continue to provide grants and support to other survivors of the bombings to help them return to an active life.
