VA launches veteran question campaign

The Department of Veterans Affairs launched a collaborative campaign to answer veterans’ questions and highlight veterans’ service organizations’ offerings.

Veterans and their family members are invited to direct benefit-related questions to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Twitter account using the hashtag #VetQ. Partner organizations also may answer questions submitted attached to the hashtag. Current partner organizations included Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Home Depot Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Student Veterans of America, Team Red White & Blue and The American Legion. Additional partners will be added in August, according to the VA’s Vantage Point blog.

Topics of #VetQ questions will range from health and disability benefits to VA home loans to GI Bill and educational benefits. The VA has encouraged all partner organizations to add their input even if the VA or another VSO already has posted a response, allowing veterans to receive multiple perspectives and options.

Users are advised to avoid including their personal details or health information in the Twitter posts.
