ABC returns as McKeever’s First Ride Sponsor for 2015

The Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation has announced the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics has returned as a primary sponsor for the McKeever’s First Ride Clinic, to be held on April 18 in Atlanta.

This will be the eighth year for McKeever’s First Ride (MFR) in Atlanta, and the program continues to grow and expand the Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF)’s focus on the U.S. military, both active duty and veteran population, according to a press release from the organization. MFR offers gentle horsemanship, riding, roping, carriages and more.

“Dan McKeever, CP, was the second president of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC), and honoring his legacy through this event

is a most fitting way to recognize his contributions to the profession,” Catherine A. Carter, ABC executive director, said in the press release.

“OPAF is very grateful to ABC for their ongoing financial support as one of our three founding sister organizations in the early 1990s,” Robin Burton, OPAF executive director, said in the release. “Our sponsors are our lifeblood and help us make sure that introductory-level adaptive recreation opportunities are available at no cost to the population we serve.”
