Hanger announces new chief information officer

Hanger has announced Scott Ranson has joined the company as its chief information officer, effective July 20.

Ranson spent 14 years as the chief information officer for Brookdale Senior Living, a publicly traded senior housing solution provider. He also previously served as the director of software for Marketing Specialists Company and vice president of information technology for Atlas Marketing Company. In 2010, Ranson was recognized as one Computerworld’s Premier 100 Top Information Technology Leaders, according to a press release.

“Scott joins Hanger at a very critical time as we work toward implementing smarter systems, utilizing better data, and creating a scalable and supportable infrastructure,” Vinit Asar, Hanger’s president and CEO, said in the release. “Scott brings the right mix of vision, leadership and experience to help Hanger put information and technology to work for us in unprecedented ways.”

Ranson holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, business management and computer information systems from Ashland University in Ohio.
