Michael Fillauer named CEO of Fillauer

Fillauer Companies Inc. recently announced Michael Fillauer, CPO/L, as its new chief executive officer.

“I am honored to lead Fillauer and excited about new opportunities that will allow us to continue growing as a leader in orthotic and prosthetic innovations and solutions,” Fillauer said in a company press release.

In 2007, Fillauer served as president of Fillauer LLC, the company’s manufacturing, central fabrication and customer service division. He also worked as a practitioner and upper extremity prosthetic specialist before joining the board of the company in 1993. He will continue to support the company’s clinical and education teams, according to the release.

He is the fourth generation of the family to lead Fillauer, which was previously led by his father Karl Fillauer, CPO/L, FAAOP, the company’s current board chairman; his grandfather Carlton Fillauer, CPO, FAAOP; his great-uncle George Fillauer Jr.; and his great-grandfather and the company’s founder, George Fillauer Sr.

According to the release, Ken Driver, the company’s former chief executive officer, will continue to serve as executive vice chairman of Fillauer’s board of directors. Dennis Williams, CO, BOCO, will continue as the company’s president and chief operating officer.

In addition, Sheri Hassler has been promoted to president of Fillauer LLC. Hassler has worked for Fillauer since 1995 and most recently served as director of operations for the past 9 years.
