Para-Rowing camp to provide adaptive sports training to amputees

Amputees who attend the 2017 Para-Rowing International Training Camp and Regatta will have the opportunity to try new prosthetic knees and feet designed for adaptive sports during the Ottobock Fitness Revolution event, according to a press release.

“We are excited to be part of the Para-Rowing International Training Camp and Regatta that is bringing together amputees, education and innovative technology to help people get active and live healthier lives,” Aaron Holm, Ottobock manager of consumer engagement, said in the release. “Many amputees have never been exposed to fitness opportunities or been able to live an active lifestyle after their amputation.”

The 2017 Para-Rowing International Training Camp and Regatta is scheduled for March 4 to 12, in Sarasota, Fla. The Ottobock Fitness Revolution is scheduled for March 10 and 11.

An expert from Ottobock’s facility in Austin, Texas, will assist with patient fittings and training, according to the release. Participants will also have the opportunity to try Ottobock’s Fitness knee and Runner foot, used by Paralympic champions, the release noted.
