Athletes with Disabilities Network to host 5K run, 1-mile run/walk in NJ

The Athletes with Disabilities Network will host a 5K run and 1-mile run/walk in New Jersey to benefit the group’s mentoring, outreach and adaptive sports programs, as well as to benefit an Atlantic City police officer who was shot and injured while responding to a robbery.

According to a press release, the event is sponsored by the Camden County Freeholder Board and the Haddonfield Running Company and is scheduled for 9 a.m. on May 13 at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken.

“This race helps us honor those who have served both at home and abroad. We want to raise awareness and encourage others to help not just our community members facing a physical life disabling event, but those facing and trying to cope with their invisible struggles,” Brandon Holiday, executive director of Athletes with Disabilities Network Northeast, said in the release.

Pre-registration is available until May 12 at www.racesignup.com. Participants can also register in-person at four locations: the Running Company of Haddonfield; the Running Company of Medford; the Running Company of Moorestown; and the Running Company of Mullica Hill. For questions about the race, contact Brandon Holiday at bholiday@adnpage.org or 267-242-4590.
