Kinetic Prosthetics hosts OPAF fundraiser

Kinetic Prosthetics recently hosted a fundraiser for the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation and its First Clinics as part of Limb Loss Awareness Month, according to a press release.

The fundraiser entitled, “Limb-itless Possibilities,” was held at the West Chester Country Club in West Chester, Phila. and included representatives from several local adaptive sports organizations, such as Eastern Amputee Golf Association and PA Center for Adaptive Sports. Attendees of the event included local amputees, therapists and supporters of adaptive sports.

“For some people with adaptive needs, finding a reason to get out of the house can be a struggle,” Mark Nielsen, CP, president of Kinetic Prosthetics, said in the release. “Our annual Limb-itless Possibilities event is designed to provide as much information as possible about activities available to people with limb loss at the local level.” He also said the event was an opportunity to provide people affected by limb loss information on adaptive programs, physical therapy and prosthetic technology, while raising money for the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF).

According to the release, more than $2,700 was raised for OPAF and the First Clinics at the event.

“We were thrilled to be selected again as the beneficiary of the Limb-itless Possibilities fundraiser with Kinetic Prosthetics and even more so, to be present this year,” Robin Burton, OPAF executive director, said in the release. “We are planning for another OPAF/Kinetic event coming in the near future.”
