Otto Bock HealthCare Will Host T.O.D.D. Field Day

In tribute to the late Todd Anderson, CP, Otto Bock HealthCare will be hosting T.O.D.D. Field Day on Saturday, Oct. 1from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Northern Star Base Camp facility on the grounds of Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis. The event, which stands for “Taking Opportunities, Defying Disabilities,” will offer multiple adaptive sport opportunities for amputees as well as team demonstrations.

“Todd brought a unique perspective to all that he did, always serving as the voice of the patient, acting with integrity and honor,” Scott Schneider, president and chief executive officer, Otto Bock North America, stated in a press release. “He brought humor and compassion to every aspect of our work.”

Adaptive archery, rock climbing, golf, yoga, hand cycling and self defense will be included along with demonstrations of wheelchair basketball and softball by members of Anderson’s teams. T.O.D.D. Field Day coincides with the launch of National Physical Therapy Month for October.

“Todd Anderson was a friend as well as a colleague,” Brad Ruhl, president and chief executive officer of Otto Bock US HealthCare, stated in a press release. “T.O.D.D. Field Day is the perfect way to honor his memory, by gathering together, trying out new sports and celebrating his life in motion.”

Anderson earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a post-graduate certificate in clinical education from Century College, White Bear Lake, Minnesota. In 1986, he was certified as a prosthetist by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics (ABC). He was one of the first clinicians to be recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (the Academy) in 2001. He was the author of many respected clinical works and he presented to countless audiences. Most recently at Otto Bock, he opened the Innovation Center and launched the concept of cooperative care.
