James Kaiser, CP, chief executive officer of Scheck & Siress Prosthetics Inc., has transferred his interest in the company to the remaining nine shareholders, effective August 2013.

Kaiser will serve as consultant to the board of directors and will continue to provide patient care in Scheck & Siress’s Hickory Hills location and work in the amputee clinic at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Ill. Kaiser also lectures to physical medicine and rehabilitation residents at Loyola and Rush University Medical Centers, Chicago, and Marianjoy.

Kaiser, a past president of the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association, started his career at Scheck & Siress as a prosthetic technician in 1974, and was certified in 1977.

Additionally, Scheck & Siress welcomed new staff members and announced several promotions, according to a company news release.

Michael Cavanaugh, CPO, will join the Lincoln Park office as a prosthetist and orthotist. He previously worked at Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics and completed his orthotic residency at Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics.

Jessica Gissal was hired as the marketing manager. Most recently, she served as the creative marketing specialist for Benedictine University.

Thomas O’Doherty, CP, was will also join the Lincoln Park location as a prosthetist. He has a combined 13 years of experience at Hanger, Keller Orthotics, Inc. and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Catherine Pospisil, CO, LO was hired at the Schaumburg office as an orthotist. Her previous experience includes interning at Hanger and serving as a practitioner at Northwestern University.

Alex Trumper, CPO, LPO, will be the new laboratory manager at the Rush University Medical Center location. Trumper is certified to fit the C-Leg, WalkAide FES device and E-Mag Active orthosis, among others, and is trained in the Goss approach to scoliosis management.

Jason Wening, CPO, LPO, MS, FAAOP, was promoted to laboratory manager at the Lincoln Park location. Wening, a bilateral amputee and biomechanist, joined Scheck in 2005.
