Registration Begins for 2010 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Championships

Online registration is underway for the 2010 U.S. Paralympics Track
& Field National Championships in Miramar, Fla. which will take place June
18-20 at the Ansin Sports Complex.

“U.S. Paralympics is honored to have the city of Miramar host the
2010 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field National Championships,” Charlie
Huebner, chief of Paralympics, U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) said in a news
release. “Their venue is top caliber. We anticipate some great competition
and seeing our athletes post some ground-breaking performances at this exciting
event.”

The competition is expected to draw more than 200 athletes with a
physical disability from a half dozen countries including Canada, Mexico and
Europe.

The competition will serve as the selection meet for the U.S. team that
will compete in the 2011 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics
World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand, Jan. 15-31, 2011.

To be eligible to compete in the 2010 U.S. Paralympics Track & Field
National Championships, athletes must meet the minimum qualifying standards.

International classification will be hosted prior to the start of the
competition. Athletes who wish to be classified must request an appointment
through the online registration process no later than May 21.
