Authorized officials who missed the December 22 deadline may still register for Round 2 and national mail-order competitions of the Medicare Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program.
Authorized officials (AOs) are strongly encouraged to register immediately. A designated AO must be listed on the CMS-855S enrollment form. Once the AO is registered, he or she can designate other employees to act at backup authorized officials (BAOs) and/or end users (EUs). All AOs, BAOs, and EUs must register for a user ID and password to access the online bidding system. BAOs are encouraged to register no later than Jan. 12, 2012 in order to assist AOs with approving EU registration.
Bidding will begin on Jan. 30 and registration will close on Feb. 9 at 9 pm EST.
