Amputee Coalition Hosts Limb Loss Education Day

The Amputee Coalition, in association with OPAF and McKeever’s First Ride, is hosting Limb Loss Education Day on Saturday, April 21 from 9 am to 5 pm at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Atlanta. This event, which will debut during National Limb Loss Awareness Month, is the first in a series of educational events for the limb loss community.

The event is designed to bring high-quality patient education to the local level. It will feature an adaptive exercise clinic and seminars about limb loss among other educational exhibits and activities.

“Our goal is to reach more amputees with our programs and services,” Kendra Calhoun, president and chief executive officer, stated in a press release. “By bringing 1-day programs to smaller regions, we hope to reach amputees that have not attended our National Conference, while also staying connected to our long-time friends that are regularly present at our programs.”
