Syracuse VA expands spinal cord injury center

The Syracuse Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center recently opened a new expansion of a spinal cord injury center to aid Veterans with spinal cord injuries.

The 6,500 square foot, 30-bed facility houses rehabilitation services, a therapeutic pool and a dialysis program, among other services, and joins a network of 21 polytrauma facilities across the country.

“The sacrifice of the fallen was enormous and noble,” Eric Shinseki, Secretary of the VA, stated in VAntage Point, the department’s official blog. “Our obligations to care for the living cannot be less so.”
