Ottobock logistics, distribution operations relocate to Louisville

Ottobock has begun relocating its North America logistics and distribution operations from Minneapolis and Toronto, Ontario, to Louisville, Ky.

The move to Louisville is part of the company’s expanded investment in the United States and North America that includes the goal to triple its business, according to a company press release.  Ottobock has started hiring for an estimated 20 new jobs by October 2014. That number is expected to grow to 25 during the next 3 years.

“Louisville has a strong reputation of shipping expertise and we believe the creation of a regional distribution center there will build efficiency in today’s competitive environment and support the accelerated growth we are anticipating,” Andreas Schultz, North American regional president and chief financial officer of Ottobock, stated. “The other top consideration in choosing a new location was an environment where our employees and the organization could flourish while maintaining our continuing commitment to improving patient outcomes and supporting clinical excellence. We are confident the choice of Louisville supports our aims.”
