OPAF adds to First Swim staff

Stephanie Turlo, MSPO, recently joined the Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF) First Swim staff, according to a press release.

Turlo has participated with the First Swim event at Eastern Michigan University for the last 2 years, and in her new role will be helping participants with mobility challenges feel comfortable in and around water.

“My love of water began at age 6 with competitive swimming, and I’ve transitioned from athlete into coaching for the past 13 years,” Turlo stated in the release. “I am fortunate enough to combine my coaching experience, BS in psychology and Master’s in orthotics and prosthetics to help bring amputees back to the water.”

“The addition of Stephanie for this program will mean a greater growth potential for First Swim and all of our aquatic programming through the First Clinics,” Robin Burton, OPAF executive director, stated in the release.
