Amputee Coalition announces new board members

The Amputee Coalition’s board of directors has elected three new members. John “Mo” Kenney, CPO, owner and principal of Kenney Orthopedics in Lexington, K.Y.; Brandon E. Dale, CPO, vice president and general manager at Hanger Orthopedic Group in both Phoenix, Ariz. and Sacremento, Calif.; and Dennis Fields, MS, CFO of SourceAmerica in Vienna, Va. are the board’s newest members.

Serving on the Amputee Coalition board is an honor for me and I look forward to the opportunities we will create as an organization serving the limb loss community,” Kenney stated in a press release. “Providing excellent constituent service that aligns with a dynamic strategic plan for the organization is important this year and in years to come. As a business owner, I am anxious to contribute my working and practical knowledge of the challenges faced by the limb loss community.”

Dale stated, “It is truly an honor for me to serve on the board of an organization that makes a clear and tangible impact in the lives of people affected by limb loss. Working with the Amputee Coalition, I will be challenged with directing strategic decisions that set our agenda on issues such as volunteerism, public policy lobbying efforts, health care and research agendas.”

Fields stated, “As an above-knee amputee, I feel I can bring some firsthand knowledge on the challenges and opportunities facing our constituency. Serving on the Amputee Coalition board along with other amputees and industry leaders is an honor for me, and a chance to give back to an organization that gives so much to adults and children with limb loss throughout the country.” Kenney manages Kenney Orthopedics, Prosthetic and Orthotic Practices, with nine locations in Kentucky and Indiana. He is the clinical director of the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education.

Dale, has worked at Hanger for 17 years and is a member of the board of directors of the California Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. He serves as a state representative for the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association, representing both Arizona and California for policy reform on a national level as well as individual state-specific PAC and legislative collaboration. He is on the board of the Disabled Athletes Foundation in Phoenix.

Fields joined SourceAmerica as chief operating officer in 2001 and previously worked as president of the consolidated Group and division general manager for Jefferson Smurfit (now Smurfit-Stone).
