Wounded Warrior Project Announces 400 Served Through Independence Program

The Wounded Warrior Project has served more than 400 seriously injured service members/veterans and their caregivers through the Independence Program.

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP)’s Independence Program works with wounded warriors who rely on their family members and caregivers due to moderate-to-severe brain injury, spinal cord injury or other neurological conditions. The program pairs each member with a case manager to create a personalized plan, with the goal of helping the wounded warrior to participate in daily tasks and activities.

“We are committed to honoring this generation of injured service members and veterans to ensure they receive the care, attention and support they deserve as they heal and integrate back into their homes and communities – and we are not just committed for today or tomorrow, but for a lifetime,” Mike Richardson, independence services and mental health executive vice president of WWP, stated in a press release. “The individualized, specialized support that each warrior in the Independence Program receives help to ensure they are able to live as rewarding and independent lives as possible.”
