UTSW students host OPAF First Dance, First Swim Clinics

Students at the University of Texas Southwestern recently hosted a First Dance and First Swim clinic as part of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation’s First Clinics initiative.

The events, held at the Bachman Therapeutic Recreation Center, were coordinated by Emily Littrell, student in the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW)’s orthotic and prosthetic master’s program, according to a press release.

First Dance was led by Curtis Haremza and First Swim was led by Jason Wening, CPO, Paralympic swimmer and director of the First Swim program.

The clinics were made possible through grant funding from College Park Industries, Fillauer, Alps and Curbell Plastics. UTSW organizers plan to implement additional clinics as a way of giving back to the community, the release noted.
