OPAF hosts First Swim Clinic in South Carolina

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation hosted a First Swim Clinic at the Kroc Aquatic Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Two-time world champion triathlete Mabio Costa, a below-knee amputee, provided instruction.

According to a press release, the afternoon of adaptive swimming instruction attracted 18 participants with physical or mobility challenges who were assisted by 22 volunteer swim buddies. The event was sponsored by Shriners Hospital for Children Greenville, Sprinkle Prosthetics and Sure Step. Costa was assisted by volunteers from Shriners Hospital and the local Greenville Splash, a U.S. Masters swim group.
