Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics Inc. Announces New Hires

Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc. has created three jobs between its York and Exton Pennsylvania offices.

Ability has hired Sarah Wooden, CPO as managing practitioner of its newly opened York, Pa. patient care center. Wooden, a graduate of Newington’s O&P programs, brings more than 10 years of clinical expertise to Ability.

“Sarah understands and possesses the skills necessary to manage an orthotic and prosthetic office in a rapidly evolving health care market,” Jeffrey Brandt, CPO and chief executive officer of Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics Inc., said in a news release.

Ability has also hired Thomas Martin, BOCO, who will be fulfilling office administration duties for the newly opened York, Pa. facility while pursuing his National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) accredited prosthetics education through Northwestern University.

“Tom has a great foundation upon which to build a successful career in O&P. Upon completion of his schooling, he’ll be returning to Ability for a residency and then opening and managing his own Ability patient care center,” Brandt said.

Lastly, Ability announced that Taffy Bowman, CPO will join the staff at Ability’s Exton, Pa. patient care facility. Bowman, a graduate of Northwestern University’s O&P programs, also brings more than 10 years of experience to Ability.

“Taffy has worked for a large orthotics and prosthetics provider, as well as for a manufacturer. This offers a unique blending of skills that will be a welcome addition to the Ability team,” Brandt said.
