Ability Announces New Hire, Charlotte Facility Relocation

Ability Prosthetics & Orthotics Inc. has hired Dan Brinkmann, CPO, as the managing practitioner of its Lexington, Ky. patient care facility. A graduate of Northwestern University’s prosthetic and orthotic programs, Brinkmann brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company, according to a press release. Brinkmann is a former co-founder of a private practice and former associate director of the O&P department at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. He has lectured to both students and colleagues and has served as an American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics residency director. Brinkmann is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.

“We are pleased to have Dan join the Ability team,” Clint McKinley, chief executive officer of Ability, stated. “Dan is a dynamic, articulate and passionate practitioner who possesses the skills necessary to operate an Ability office.”

Ability also recently announced the relocation of its Charlotte, N.C. patient care office in 2011. The new facility can accommodate three practitioners and is designed to meet the needs of patients with features that include wide hallways, wheelchair accessible restrooms, pediatrics specialty room, scanning room and enlarged gait training room with steps, ramps and 24 foot parallel bars for walking amputees and brace wearers.

“The gait room in this office is premier,” Jeffrey Brandt, CPO, chief operating officer of Ability, stated. “The interactive room will set an even higher standard for the delivery and training process our patients currently enjoy.”
