Amputee Coalition expects large turnout at national conference

The Amputee Coalition presents 3 days of education, adaptive sports and social networking for amputees in what it anticipates will be its largest audience at its 2013 National Conference in Orlando, Fla. June 27-29.

Bob Gailey, PhD, PT, from the University of Miami, will lead an amputee mobility enhancement clinic, while Kevin Carroll, MS, CP, FAAOP, vice president of prosthetics for Hanger Clinic, will lead a bilateral lower limb clinic. Brian Carlsen, MD, of the Mayo Clinic and. Matthew Carty, MD, of Brigham and Women’s Hospital will present a limb transplant plenary session.

Roy Bloebaum, PhD, research professor in the department of orthopaedics at the University of Utah, will deliver the keynote address on osseointegration.

Conference visitors and athletes can participate in several events in the adaptive sports and recreation expo hall and talk to experts in the field about the latest prosthetic technology.
