The Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics, published by the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, has appointed Michelle J. Hall, MS, CPO, FAAOP(D), as the newest member of its editorial board, according to a press release.

“Michelle is well-known and respected among the [O&P] profession and the Academy, and she has been a tremendous supporter and advocate of [the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics] JPO for many years,” Steve Gard, PhD, JPO editor-in-chief, said in the release. “I am excited to have her join our editorial board, and I look forward to her contributions.”

Hall, who served as president of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) in 2014, has 10 years of experience as an O&P clinician. She is currently the prosthetic team lead and residency director at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. In addition, Hall is a three-time winner of the Thranhardt Lecture Series and a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Early Career Achievement from the University of Iowa, the release noted.

Hall has also volunteered on committees for AAOP, the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.
